The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. Bottom factory labels are intact and readable. The brand new replacement power cord and safety polarized plug with no cracks, or splits or electrical tape repair. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. All out of spec capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. The unit powers on and off with a definitive click.
Dial light lights up brightly! The tuning and volume dials work fine. This radio is over 70 years old! All the dial numbering and lettering is crisp and clear no flaking. The knobs are brown Bakelite securely attached. Original varnish is still glossy condition not sticky or gummy. Excellent construction and design! Center top cigar not cigarette looking burn is totally choice! Front grill slats have consistent wear and tear and finish loss adds to seasoned look. Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without external antenna attachment. Ask me it's equivalent to original patina for old gun collectors. Original factory clear coat has consistent age checking and yellowing through like an old violin. Solid intact wood construction cabinet no cracks, no separated joints no peeling veneer. Has subtle seasoned wear look like a banister at an old library or church pew. Fancy highly figured grained veneers throughout. Looks like something I would see in my old professor's office.
